About Me

I am Ben Halpern. Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I have been involved in web design and internet marketing since I was only 13 years old when I learned html and created the fantasy sports information and news website http://fantasyemporium.tk (no longer in existence). When I saw that website get indexed in Google for the first time it was like getting to be part of some awesome club. I have always been very interested in and apprehensive of the internet and where we all fit into it. I have built many websites since. I have migrated from other design languages to WordPress implementation in order to best create dynamic and beautiful websites that I will be able to easily add content to and that my clients will be able to easily add content to. There is absolutely nothing worse than having to spend unwanted hours updating a website. Once the website is fully implemented, I never have to see the code again and neither do you.

For my personal internet marketing ventures I handle all the aspects of the operation from search engine optimization to social media engagement and everything in between. I consider it important to my success that I am schooled in marketing and not specifically design or programming. That is simply a skill of mine that I have had from a very young age. I design and create with the end business and end consumer in mind, not simply for the sake of design.

Web Design

I create websites that are optimized for navigation, aesthetics and overall customer experience. Because I work in internet marketing as well as web design, I pay a lot of attention to bounce rate, pages per visit, return rates, opt in rates and anything else that gives me a clue as to what is the best way to earn results through the web and create the ideal online brand. But most importantly I understand how frustrating it can be to maintain a website if the right system is not put in place from day one. That is why I use the WordPress Platform instead of Dreamweaver or FTP managers and the such. Once a site has been created to unique and ideal specifications using this system it can be updated easily whenever or wherever it needs to be. And I really do mean wherever. I update my own sites from my iPhone all the time.

Many service providers will charge upwards of $3,000 to $5,000 for similar services to mine. While I think my work is comparable with anything you are going to find in this market I will charge MUCH less (three figures). For a precise price we will talk about what you expect and I will quote you the best price you will find anywhere. I produce only great websites that I would be proud to own myself. I can work in mediums other than wordpress if you insist, but frankly I just do not recommend it.

Minisite:

Minisites can be beautiful ways to show off your brand exactly the way you want it. This website, Ben’s Web, is a minisite in case you were unsure of what I mean by the term. But Ben’s Web is more has a more artistic style than most people actually desire for their business. Most minisites, while aesthetically beautiful, will be very functional, easy to navigate and search engine friendly. It is 1-6 pages easily navigated to show your customers exactly what it is you offer. If you know what you want I will deliver it quickly and to your needs. If you trust me to know what you need in terms of design, I will deliver it even more quickly and even more awesome.

Full Business Website:

$600-$1950

Many businesses require more than a minisite. These sites are much deeper and may provide much more detail and depth into all your offerings and are perfect for updating on a regular basis and really capturing loyal customers who will keep coming back to your site for more information on your offerings.

Because updating these sites is so easy through the WordPress platform, I work in one time fees. There is no monthly upkeep charge or anything like that. I know what a pain it can be to try to get hold of your web master to make a simple change to content. While I will be available for further service if needed, I will not charge you for upkeep that you do not need.

There is a lot more to creating a successful web presence than simply a well designed website. Success on the internet today often includes a well planned out and well executed strategy for search engine optimization, social media, mailing list, mobile marketing and a ton of other areas that can be seen as major opportunities. Where else in your marketing efforts are you going to find tons of people in your local market seeking out exactly what you are offering them?
